UNDERWATER
“Can you dive with that?” Natalia asked as we were prepping for a boat trip in the Ments.
“Technically?” I said, looking my water housing. It was rated to 10m, but I’d never tried pushing it beyond whatever was needed to dive under a crashing wave.
Several weeks and text chains of underwater shots later, we were on the boat when the waves decided not to play ball. I’d packed my long fins, but I wasn’t expecting much. It was supposed to be a surf trip after all, and I was supposed to be shooting surfing — at least that’s what I’d promised the brands I was working with.
Well, here goes nothing, I’d thought as I kicked out with. And so here’s a bit of that nothing. As the other girls caught on to what we were doing, somehow I spent the next three hours diving and shooting as they danced and spearfished underwater.
AS ABOVE, SO BELOW.
