PRACTICE
I’m an artist and storyteller working both in and out of the sea. I swim alongside the subjects I photograph, above and below the surface.
My work chases softness, because in letting the specificity fall away, an image is no longer tied to a particular time or space. This lets you be there — as if you’re overhearing that moment. The colors aren’t what the camera saw that morning. They’re what you’d remember of it afterwards.
In the ocean, I wait for that rare second of stillness in waters that never stop moving. The people in my photos are often small, a measure of the vastness of their surroundings. By de-centering the body, I hope to re-center our relationship with our environments.
My series Coldwater Sessions is currently on show in Edinburgh. I’m now working on Life Happens on a Tuesday, made over a month sailing the Arctic waters of Northeast Greenland on a 37-foot boat.
COLDWATER SESSIONS
Coldwater Sessions is a nod to surf, music, and skating, where a session is as much the process as the result. These images follow that rhythm. They’re fragments from a morning half-happened, sitting somewhere between documentary and dream.

THE WEIGHT OF WATER
[ WIP ] This ongoing series goes down, below the stories we tell of ourselves to worlds we hold but can’t yet name. It unfolds across four chapters. Each image is planned with the subject on the surface and made on a single breath underwater.
